Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in quest for Casimir.
